Itinerary

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive Byron Bay
Fly to Ballina/Byron Bay and make your way to your accommodation for the next 6 nights.

Day 2: Byron Bay Tour
Visit Cape Byron and see dramatic cliffs tumbling down to the ocean surge. The coach tour explores the easternmost point of mainland Australia, marked by the Victorian-era lighthouse high on the crest of Cape Byron. Standing on a bald rocky headland, with a precipitous cliff to the east, and a sheer drop of approximately 330 feet (100 metres), Cape Byron Lighthouse is one of the most powerful lighthouses, and the most easterly, in Australia. The friendly village atmosphere provides a taste sensation of rural Australia. Soak up the laid-back lifestyle. Stop at Tropical Fruit World to explore the world’s largest selection of tropical fruits and discover chocolate fruit, red dragonfruit and waterberries. Enjoy lunch at leisure on your own, indulge in some retail therapy, or simply sink your toes in the sand at one of the beautiful beaches.

Day 3: Rainforest Walk & Minyon Falls
Explore the natural wonder of the World Heritage listed Nightcap National Park including a 2 hour guided rainforest walk to the base of the spectacular Minyon Falls. Take a swim in the pristine fresh water pools, photograph the abundant wildlife or simply relax and get in touch with nature. Enjoy a delicious, locally sourced BBQ lunch after your walk. Arrive at the oldest white settlement in the Byron Bay area, famous little town of Bangalow (est.1840). Tour Bangalow's fascinating mix of local shops, galleries and cafes. From Bangalow, the tour weaves through the beautiful Byron hinterland and the many historical unspoilt hinterland towns that are sprinkled throughout the country side.

Day 4: Whale Watching Cruise Byron Bay – June to Oct each year.
Welcome to Blue Bay Whale Watching, Byron Bay’s most popular whale watching tours. Their custom-built eco-vessel is the only dry and comfortable whale watching boat in the Cape Byron Marine Park.
Come and enjoy an intimate encounter with majestic Humpback Whales from the comfort of a 8.5m catamaran “Bay Warrior” without getting wet. The whale watching tours depart daily from the private jetty in the Brunswick Heads Boat Harbour, the perfect gateway to the Cape Byron Marine Park. “Bay Warrior” was purposely built for comfort and stability. It has a large cabin with big glass windows for equally great viewing from inside. The spacious and stable back deck is completely sheltered from the sun and the rain. During the trip, you can move up onto our elevated front deck and enjoy 360 degree views of whales and scenery. The Wharf is a 30 minute scenic drive, south of Byron at Ballina. Please meet on the Lance Ferris Wharf directly in front of Wharf Bar & Restaurant. Someone will come to collect you and take you down to the boat. We travel along the Ballina/Byron coast and where we visit depends on where the whales are.

Day 5: Free day in Byron Bay
Today is a free day for you to enjoy the sights of Byron Bay at leisure. Perhaps check out at the Lone Goat Gallery. Located on the corner of Lawson and Middleton Street, this vibrant exhibition space is within walking distance from the centre of town. Byron Bay and surrounding regions are home to some of Australia’s most talented visual artists, so check out what’s on while you are in town.

Day 6: Hinterland Magic & Glo-worm Experience
Swim at an epic waterfall followed by a remarkable glow-worm experience. Be amazed at a well-hidden rainforest temple in the Hinterland, where you will experience some true original Byron Bay vibes. Explore this amazing region. Visit a hidden hippie rainforest temple. Stop at: Minyon Falls, Nightcap National Park, Bangalow, New South Wales Australia. Visit the iconic Minyon Falls lookout and eat organic/ vegetarian dinner.

Day 7: Depart Byron Bay
Your Byron Bay holiday concludes today as you check out of your hotel and make your own way to the Byron / Ballina airport home for flights home. Or our reservations team can book a rental car for you and you can drive to/from Ballina Airport. Please inquire at time of booking.
